ABOUT

In a digital world where technology moves fast, awareness must be raised about the cybersecurity of vulnerable people and the best interest regarding their engagement with the digital space.

A vulnerable person is someone whose cognitive, physical, sensory, or socioeconomic circumstances, like children, older adults, or those with disabilities, intersect with complex digital environments that may not be inclusive.

Digital technologies can empower vulnerable individuals, yet these security tools and safeguarding rules also weren't designed with them in mind, which can expose or lock these people out.

This is where Mothership SAFETY can help fill in the gap.

7.15 million disabled internet users in the UK have accessibility needs.
An estimated 20% of businesses (approximately 283,000) and 14% of charities (approximately 29,000) have been victims of at least one cyber crime in the last 12 months.

INCLUSIVE CYBERSECURITY

Most security standards assume you can juggle lots of passwords, or spot fake emails at a glance.

Traditional safety measures deal with risk by taking access away. Both leave people out, and cutting someone off doesn't keep them safe. It leaves them isolated and less able to spot a real problem.

Mothership Safety takes an inclusive shift towards cybersecurity practices to reduce this barrier:

Simpler sign-ins: Passkeys, fingerprints and PINs in place of riskier password measures.

Digital literacy tools Simple steps for independently judging whether information is genuine.

Online Independence Helping people make their own decisions, including taking sensible risks.

Accessible systems: Sound/visual feedback, plain-language alerts, and secure tools.

No-blame environment: Raise concern without the worry of punishment or confiscation.
